Angels Everywhere
In the journal Angels Everywhere is allows reader to undertand the relationship between organized crime and corruption. A hells angel member who was in the gang for 12 years reveals the thruth behind the corrupted police officers. He owned a night ckub that was used for gambling and prostitution and payed officers 50$ a night so that they would look the other way. This suggests the strain theory because even the officer feel the pressure of society because they had easy access to illegitimate money. Apparently Hells Angels were are constantly trying to recruit police officers into there crime family in order so that they can continue to profit from organizations and institutions. Give Corruption A Chance
In the journal Give Corruption A Chance talks about how corruption is a part of every goverment structur esystem. Corruption has been the normal and legitamate of most human societies. In the journal they talk about how it can be good and benefit society. They state that the point of a government is simply to have a stable government therefor as long as your not in economic crises its good.The laws of the criminal justice in north america protects organizations and instittutions and focuses on the individual. Government Economic Intervention and Corruption
In the journal Government Economic Intervention and Corruption as a world wide problem. It focuses on why corruption is worse in 3rd world countries. Corruption has been linked to taxes by the goverment because you can never be sure if ur money is going to the economic good of the nation. Majority of citizens to look to the government and believe that the establishment is in place for our best interest therrefor it can be difficult to find corruption. The goal of this journal is to provide readers with goverment intervention programs that can help find corruption within the structure.They examined countrie IEF and CPI to determine which components are highly associeted with corruption.They conclude that corruption is more occurent in low income countries. This is not suprizing because the improverished countries only means of profit is by illegitimate means. War Making and State Making as Organized Crime

This scholarly article, called " War Making and State Making as Organized Crime", has been written by Charles Tilly in Bringing the State Back In edited by Peter Evans, Dietrich Rueschemeyer, and Theda Skocpol for Cambridge University Press, in 1985. It discusses about the idea that the states are too close to big organized crime, which could eventually lead to the making of an economic war. It is discussed through the idea of a social contract, the idea of an open market in which the states offer services to willing consumers, and by the idea of a society whose shared norms and expectations lead to a certain kind of government. The main subtopics of this paper are the phenomenon of double-edged protection, the violence and the government, the protection as a business, history talks, what could be done by states, how states are formed, and finally, war as international relations.

This scholarly article, called "Empirical Status of Social Learning Theory of Crime and Deviance: The Past, Present, and Future", has been written by Ronald L. Akers, from the University of Florida and by Gary F. Jensen, from the Vanderbilt University. This paper has two main goals. As told by the authors in the introduction, "The first goal is to review the empirical research evidence on the validity of social learning theory as an explanation of criminal and deviant behavior." Also stated by them, the second goal of the paper is to " illuminate new directions for expanding, elaborating, and testing the theory in the future." In short, what this means is that through their article, they cover the models of social structure as well as those of social learning. The article also discusses that the social learning theory (the main topic), when elaborated, can account for criminological and sociological regularities. It reviews the social learning theory, the research on social learning variables, the future of social learning in criminology, the imitation, contagion and auto-correlation, the conceptual overlap with the organizational theory, the separable effects of structure and culture, the multiple cultural processes and forms, the countervailing mechanisms, the modeling of occupational structure, and concludes with comments on the elaboration of social learning theory at the macro level.

Another one bites the dust
Former Quebec Liberal Party minister Tony Tomassi has been charged with fraud and abuse of confidence in a trial that is set for June 2nd. Tomassi, who had been removed from the Liberal caucus in 2010 because of his use of a suspicious credit card, is once again under the spotlight. The accusations he now faces are related to an event in which he would have lobbied Line Beauchamp, who was the environment minister at that time, to grant a decontamination permit to Carboneutre. Carboneutre was run by Domenic Arcuri, who is linked to the Rizzuto clan.

Mass Arrest's in MtL
Montreal police have been investigating a organized crime group in the Rizzuto crime family line. They used more than 100 officers and managed to gather more than 30 search warrants. The bust took place in Terrebonne and Laval. This investigation has been a 2 year long project that finally came together as they arrested 20 criminals who are link with organized crime. This article displays how the Montreal police are cutting down on the organized crime. The men will be tried on Thursday and until then they are found not guilty!

Revenue Canada corrupted from the inside.

Nicolo Rizzuto, one of the most influential Italian mobsters in Québec owed the Canada Revenue Agency over 1.5 million in unpaid taxes around 2007. However, a cheque of $381,737.46 coming from the Montreal's department of this very same agency ended up in his family's hands (he was in jail at that time). The cheque was supposedly there to refund them tax money that they overpaid... Even if the cheque has never been cashed in because of the intervention of an anti-organized-crime unit policeman, it is surprising to see that an amount of money that big, addressed to one of the most known mobsters managed its way into the system without ever being questioned. It is most likely to be the result of corruption taking place into the Montreal department, which has been put under an investigation under a request filed by their head office. With corruption able to infiltrate national agencies, the future that seems to be ahead of us does not seem quite good. Let's hope that this storm is going to stay over our heads as shortly as possible.

Construction boss admits to corruption

Quebec is cracking down on organized crime in the construction industry as a construction contractor who was brought to court admits to rigging the bids for public work projects. Lino Zambito admitted to the court that the mob over saw all his contracts and the building owners would be forced to pay the mob in cash. Infrabrec construction is a multi-million dollar industry that would rack in on average 10 to 15milion dollars a year. They had a system with other corrupted company's where they would assure that they would not truly bid against each other for projects. They would tell the other company's there bids for projects and assure that the bid was low that they can al split the profits and continue to get richer when the contract is developed. Zambito stated "it's a business, entrepreneurs made money, and an amount was due to the mafia". Québec's anti-corruption investigators are cracking down hard and finding much more evidence and they realize that corruptions leads to taking are tax payers money. They continue to destroy corruption in organized crime and political parties.

The UPAC (Unité Permanente Anti-Corruption), which is Quebec's department of investigation, obtained a search warrant in order to find evidence of illegal political funding made by the PLQ (Parti libéral du Québec). After the confession of Lino Zambito, an ex-businessman linked to the mafia, which were accusing the government of corruption, the UPAC built a case against the Party and this summer, when nobody was watching them because of the Lac-Mégantic tragedy, they obtained a warrant and went directly in the principal PLQ offices in Montreal. The warrant was then sealed, so the public couldn't ever know what were the motives behind this search. It is sad to see that in a society like today where money is tight and every budget is closely watched, our own government still abuses our trust and doesn't use the taxpayers money the way it was meant to be used. From a subjective point of view, some might argue that the people who gave an illegal amount of money had the moral right to do it because it was their money, but from an objective point of view, the UPAC made a great job, because the laws have to be followed.

Mayor of Laval charged with gangsterism
The Mayor of Laval Gille Vallancourt has been running organized crime in Laval for the past 10years after winning 6 straight elections with no contest. He would do everything from take cash donations, fraud and extortion and was charged with the 3rd highest case of gansterism. This charge is normally associated with mobsters and bikers. Vallancourt was apparently very close with the Rizzuto clan and the Hell's Angels. This type of social deviance is unheard of with men of high power because of social conformity. Its shocking to find corruption so close to our everyday lives as Vallancourt would take tax payers money. 37 people also went down with Vallancourt which makes this an extreme case of social deviance.
